Different Acts Of Fundraising Kindness

Fundraising is the act of raising money or collecting funds for a certain cause. Often the money that is raised goes towards charities, but money can be raised for organisations that are not non-for-profit. Many different organisations may wish to raise money, and there are many different ways to receive said money. Organisations may range from religious groups to political parties, and recieving money can mean matching an amount or receiving a grant.

In the case of religious parties, there are a countless amount of reasons as to why money may be raised and for the direct causes. For example, the Catholic church collects coin donations during Mass that will go towards bettering the church. This is merely one example. Other religious traditions and even denominations may raise money to help better social welfare and may even partner with a particular charity, thus making it a non-for-profit raising of money.

In terms of political parties, often certain charities will try and win over different policies through the use of raising money. These are called Political Action Committees, and the money can help a campaign, a candidate or even a bill or act to be stopped or passed. The appeal for money for this particular use is frowned upon, although it is not uncommon. Despite laws existing to try and lesser its impact, it still has quite the influence over certain politicians and policies. Beyond the groups that aim to raise money, are the ways in which money is given to said groups. Some companies will offer to match the price. Usually, one participant will donate a certain amount of money, and companies with the income will agree to match that amount of money thus doubling the amount that is able to be used. This is one way that big companies can help non-for-profit organisations.

Some companies may not match a donation, but they may offer corporate or volunteer grants. This means that a company with the means will give money to a non-for-profit organisation to help you with your goals. It is common for grants to occur in order for companies to receive a better public image and strengthen their relationships with varies other organisations.

Grants can come in the form of cash or equipment and supplies. If a grant is given in the form of a cash, it will usually only be a one time deal. It can be seen as a form of catalyst to help the non-for-profit organisation begin. If it is not given in cash to the organisation, the company may elect to sponsor a given event or activity, to help raise more money for the cause. In some cases, when the organisation is specific in its wants and it matches the interests of a bigger companies, the organisation may receive equipment.

This is only one perspective of raising money. A grassroots attempt is drastically different.
